Simply put the food was barely warm and the people at the register can barely speak English. I ordered the teriyaki chicken combo meal. The flavor was alright, but the entire meal tasted like it was sitting out for awhile. The vegetables were mediocre at best. The salad had a puddle of water in it. Overall if you are in this area go to Moe's or Chick-fil-A at least the food is hot and tastes much better than anything served here.

So So. Place was pretty much empty for a Saturday evening. The party I was with was eating in. Food came out fairly quickly. I had ordered a combo meal (under $8 for a soft drink, salad, and main course). I wish they had more choices for salad dressing choices (you only can choose from ranch or a ginger type dressing). Food was not too hot, but not on cold side, either. Thinking like the locale in Lexington, food is made in bulk ahead of time, so food can be sitting around for a while before it is served.

First of all, I should admit that I really enjoy eating at the Harbison location of Tokyo Grill and I had perhaps unreasonable expectations of this location. Without making a comparison, though, here's my experience: I order something that is not on the menu in exact form. All of the ingredients are on the menu, though and the other location can handle this without a sweat (sorry, there's a comparison)! I also ask for the broccoli in my meal to be prepared without lemon juice. They don't seem upset by any of this, but they aren't actually friendly, either. Then I wait more than ten minutes while about six people behind me get their meals (including a guy who came in about 8 minutes after me and whom I'm pretty sure was given my order, since I heard him order the same thing). When my order was finally ready, there was no apology for taking what I consider and unreasonable amount of time at a fast food place. I took my order to go and sat down to it about ten minutes later. The food was warm, so there's a plus! Here's the minus: the broccoli, that I assumed was holding up the order? There were 3 pieces of it in the whole meal. There were 4 mushroom slices. The rest was beef and shrimp. About half the beef was too fatty to eat. The shrimp was fine. To summarize -- the service was unfriendly, the meat chewy, and the preparation lazy. Head to the Harbison location. :)

Pei wei meets panda express? We stopped in for a quick lunch while traveling. The service was friendly and the place was busy. The food was reasonable but far from any Asian dining experience we have ever had. The "fried rice" was more like white rice with a little bit of soy sauce dumped on it for color. No vegetables in it. We got some tempura shrimp platters to share and they were okay. We were asked if we wanted any extra sauce and when we inquired what kind of sauce they had they said the most popular is the "white" sauce. Which is actually just a mildly spiced mayo. Gross! Anyways for a quick lunch this place was alright but nothing to rave about.

This location is excellent. The wait time was only 5 minutes for my food. The hamachi shrimp with the shrimp sauce is my favorite. The staff are friendly and work quickly. It is a great place for a quick lunch.

The only reason I gave even two stars is because I love Japanese food. The staff at the register and rude and not personal at all. I always have to wait forever for my food, and the veggies are always soggy. I have asked numerous times for veggies straight off the grill so they wouldn't be getting soggy. You would think I asked them a hard question when I asked that. OK food, crappy service.
